About Wassim Swaidan
For Wassim, guiding is far more than explaining monuments and dates — it is about helping travellers understand the people, stories and civilizations that shaped Egypt.
With more than 20 years of experience as an Egyptologist and professional tour guide, Wassim has spent his career introducing visitors from around the world to Egypt’s extraordinary heritage. From the temples and tombs of ancient Egypt to the historic streets of Cairo, he combines detailed knowledge with an easy, personal style that makes even complex history accessible and memorable.
His approach is built around conversation rather than lectures. He enjoys answering questions, adapting each visit to the interests of his guests and revealing the details that are often missed on a conventional sightseeing tour.
As a co-founder of Kairo Reisen, Wassim helped create the company around a simple idea: travellers should experience Egypt with people who genuinely know it, care about it and enjoy sharing it.
Whether it is your first visit to Egypt or a return journey to explore it more deeply, Wassim’s goal is the same — to help you leave with a richer understanding of Egypt and memories that go far beyond the photographs.
